Unwind Simple Project - - (INTERNAL DOCUMENT ONLY)

This is a clean, visual project board used to track our work from start to finish. It removes extra clutter so the team can see exactly where every task is and what needs attention.

Here is how the board works:

The Columns and Colors

Each column represents a step in our process. The colors give you a quick visual update on the health of the project.

  • Backlog (Gray): Tasks that are on our radar. More research must be done before we can start them.
  • Ready Backlog (Gray): All research is done. The task is ready, but we have not started working on it yet.
  • Sprint in Progress (Blue): Active tasks that someone is currently working on.
  • Obstacles | Waiting on 3rd Party (Raspberry): Work is stuck. We are waiting on someone outside the company to respond or take action.
  • Awaiting Approval (Raspberry): Work is paused because it needs an internal review or approval from a manager to move forward.
  • QA Testing (Purple): We are testing the work to make sure it functions exactly as it should.
  • Production Ready (Gold): The work is fully tested and approved. It is just waiting to be deployed or launched.
  • Deployed | Finished (Green): The task is successfully completed and live.

Automated Alerts ("Days to Rot")

We do not manually nag people for updates. The system tracks how long a task has been sitting in a column. If it sits past its limit, the card highlights in red so the manager knows to step in.

  • Obstacles | Waiting on 3rd Party: Turns red after 5 days.
  • Awaiting Approval: Turns red after 3 days.
  • QA Testing: Turns red after 3 days.

Task Status Dots

ITask Statuses

Instead of typing out updates, you can change the status on your task card to signal your progress to the team:

  • In Progress (Gray/Clear): This is the default state. You are actively working on it.
  • Changes Requested (Yellow): You hit a roadblock or changes are needed (either internally or from the customer) before the task can move forward.
  • Approved (Green): You finished the work for your column. The card is ready to be dragged into the next stage.
  • Canceled: The task is no longer needed. Note: Clicking this closes the task and removes it from the active screen.
  • Done: The task is successfully completed. Note: Clicking this closes the task and removes it from the active screen.

Best Practice: When to use "Done" Do not click "Done" right away. Instead, carry the task through the stages normally. When the task reaches the "Production Ready" column, click Approved and leave it there, so you can see all the task that we completed and are ready to go. Because production releases and the final finish stage often need to get grouped together or might be waiting on dependencies, clicking "Done" too early will cause the task to disappear from the board before the actual launch happens. Only mark it "Done" once it is officially deployed.
